There is, I think, an innate longing for a heart to know love.
And as much as it needs to know love, it needs to show it.
To pour it out on someone else, just giving someone else all they have to give in that moment.
But for many people, there has been some kind of emotional trauma that has taught them not to give it and not to let it in.
We all start out clean and tender.
Not knowing that the wonderful feeling that so far in our life that has been only good and right, can turn out sour and hurt more deeply than anything we could imagine.
When we go allow it happen, it is so right that we don't even know to be cautious. It happens completely organically.
But then, one day, one hour, something goes wrong and it stops you dead in your tracks.
Whether it be romantic or familial, it is an experience that you cannot compare to anything else. The shock of it being ripped out of your heart is like having a knife rammed into your stomach, or if you're lucky, it is a gradual recession that goes so slowly that once the final chord holding it to you snaps, you're still so numb that it just feels like another day and you can convince yourself that it isn't so bad.
Despite how you were let down by love, the majority of us fight like hell to make sure that the worst time is the last time.
That you are bigger than it, and you're over it....
You make pacts with yourself, doing things like, forbidding your heart to feel things, and ignoring the hurt; as if your mind has any real control over your heart..
Yet, regardless of how hardened you may have grown against the whole ordeal, it has a way of catching up to you.
And when it does, you will more than likely be too preoccupied negotiating with yourself that you wont notice until it is too late.
Once it finds you you really only have two options in my opinion.\
1. You can fight it and try to block it out.
or..
2. You can give into it.
Regardless what you do you wont be the same after.
